Hey so I guess it's time for an update. For those of you who uh didn't read, I went to Biloxi.
I'm not going to go into great detail on here. You can ask me personally if you want to know more.
They still need a lotta help down there.... with money and volunteers and prayers.
Our first job - home of Mr. Jones:

Sarah and Mrs. Bridwell

Katherine

Me doing my "jump staple" technique for the insulation...

Sheetrocking for Mr. Jones

Tearing up the floor in our 2nd house... it was trashed to begin with... so we tore it up.

The Bridwell Heights group....
1st row: Sarah, Mrs. Bridwell
2nd row: Miss. Evans, me, Katherine

Dusty room + chair + sunlight = picture

Some people in front of the church... The church wasn't damaged except for the front doors and one window. It is about 100 feet from the water. luck? i think not.

This is not a building. This is a barge. During the hurricane, it came inland. It's HUUUGGGGEEEE.

Me with some now very good friends of mine, the Tuckers.
L to R: Stephen, Me, Dr. Tucker, Rebekah, David

We went to this one guy's house, Tommy... and Tommy send me to his best friend's house, Bruce's where I roofed for the first time in my life. Notice the symmetrical screws. OooOoo...

Me and Bruce's son were the only guys able to get up on the roof because everyone else was too old.... except this black guy. Because he was awesome.
Oh yeah, and Tommy turned out to be a State Senator. Small world huh?

That's our group with Vernin. Vernin was quite possibly the coolest dude ever. I dunno..it's a toss up between him and the other black guy on the roof.

Two more friends I met there... Pierce and Jared. Very cool guys.

That is RIGHT next to the church. Maybe it's beginning to be clear how it's amazing that the church received no damage.

You find some interesting stuff while cleaning up.... Bingo cards, old pictures, watches, blenders, gas cans.. you name it, it was in the rubble.

About to leave on a foggy morning...

Notice the flag... That's am emo lighthouse... who knew lighthouses could be emo?

That's my favorite picture from the trip...
So, it's really hard to explain how everything was there. Words just can't describe the tears in people's eyes as you were leaving after helping them... For some of you... ok, very very few of you.. ok maybe one of you..... I have tried, but I really didn't do it justice.
So... here's your assignment: Go help them out! They have SOOO much to do ... it's been about 4 months since Katrina hit... and it's barely made a dent in the repair. If you're free for a week, go help them out!
